In China, the Art-Architecture of the Gardens originated about 3000 years ago, in the imperial hunting grounds. Later, it finds its application in the smaller and private gardens of the houses of rich merchants.
The principles of the design of the Chinese Garden are closely linked to the principles of Feng Shui, which essentially aims to find a balance between man and his living environment; this of course having as a background vision a Chinese philosophical and cultural perspective. In the study of Feng Shui, the Art of Gardens, although having its autonomy mainly as a School of Form, takes on a particular relevance for its complementarity with the space of the houses and for its reference to the themes of Feng Shui of the natural environment. This ancient art is not widely known in the West, therefore it represents above all for the students and the Feng Shui Practitioners a rare occasion of experience and professional training. Since this year our School has included in its didactic programs of Feng Shui, this complementary specialization rather unique and little taught.
This 3-day course will begin by treating the principles of the design of the Chinese Garden; it will then continue in the following two days, combining the theoretical part with a practical example on the spot. In the end, the participants will be able to fully understand how to design and build a Feng Shui Garden in the West, following the characteristics of the Chinese Garden and the rules of good Feng Shui.
In the meantime we will visit a nearby garden and we will also show through slides, two examples of how we have already realized the Feng Shui of a Chinese Garden, in Europe and in Australia.
A knowledge base of Feng Shui is desirable but not necessary. All people interested in the theme of Gardens and nature are welcome.
At the end of the course will be awarded a joint degree Ecofs Berlin and Feng Shui Roma Architecture & Design School, European Schools of Feng Shui in Cooperation.
